Oil spill during bunkering operation in Rauma
The "Baltic Bright" caused an oil spill in the port of Rauma after having arrived from Ijmuiden in the morning of June 5, 2017. Several cubic meters of fuel oil spilt form an overflowing tank onto the deck and into the water during a bunkering manoever probably caused by human error. The rescue service boomed the vessel off and recovered about 45 cubic meters oil contaminated water. In the evening another boom was installed a little further from the ship. The situation was being monitored overnight. Booms were likely to be removed in the morning of June 6.
