The "Sky Light" was detained on July 16, 2025, in Iskenderun with 26 deficiencies, nine of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Safety of navigation - Voyage or passage plan Missing 2) Emergency systems - Emergency fire pump and its pipes Inoperative 3) Structural conditions - Hull - Cracking Cracked 4) Structural conditions - Beams, frames, floors-construction Not as required 5) Structural conditions - Decks - Corrosion Not as required 6) Water/Weathertight - Covers (Hatchway,- portable,- tarpaulin etc Not properly maintained 7) Life saving Appliances - Lifeboats Not properly maintained 8) Living and working - Ventilation (Working spaced) Not as required 9) Fire safety - Fire prevention structural integrity Not as required The vessel was released again on July 19 and permitted a single voyage to go Tartus for permanent repairs, where it arrived on July 26. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591

Former master released from Danish arrest

Alexander Matvienko, the former master of the "Ivan Bobrov" who had been arrested in Denmark for higher alcohol concentration in blood, was deported to Russia after the Russian ship’s owner employs agent settled the matter in Denmark. On Feb 4, 2016, Matvienko had arrived at Russia and was currently in Moscow. The company has not decided yet whether to call Matvienko to disciplinary liability. The decision will be made after the general director has met him. The mate and the ship’s engineer, which had also been arrested, were already deported to Russia on Jan 21. The new staff had arrived on Jan 7. The ship sailed away from Denmark on Jan 9 and continued the halted voyage to Riga, arriving there on Jan 28.

Ivan Bobrov released, captain remains imprisoned

The "Ivan Bobrov" was released by the Danish authorities after a new captain, first mate and engineer hade been hired in Arkhangelsk. On Jan 9 the ship could proceed to Riga after nine days detention in the harbor of Elsinore. The captain, who was stopped for drunkeb sailingon New Year's Day, remained imprisoned. In addition to the ship's captain, also the first mate and the engineer have been charged with drunken navigation. The captain will remain imprisoned until Jan 15. The ship was en route from Ipswich to Riga, when the Defence Sea Rescue Service became aware of the ship when it sailed strikingly odd.
