Supply ship boarded and looted by pirates
The 'Maersk Trader' while in position 04 45 54S, 011 46 36E, at the Pointe Noire anchorage, Congo, was boarded by two robbers in a canoe, on Dec 17, 2019, at 02.30 a.m. After boarding the tug, the robbers stole the tug's properties and escaped. The incident was reported to Pointe Noire Port Control.
Medevac off Sicily
On Sep 10, 2018, the "Maersk Trader", enroute from Rotterdam to the FPSO "Firenze", requested assistance for a crew member which had fallen ill aboard the ship. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Rome organized a medevac of the patient in Sicily waters.
