Grounding off Thessaloniki
The "Sirius Cement I" with a crew of 15 and a cargo of cement ran aground in the Gulf of Saloniki enroute from Thessaloniki to Margera on Sep 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. The ship was refloated four hours later with the assistance of the tugs "Megalochari VII" and "Christos XLIV" and returned to Thessaloniki for inspedtions. She left the port again on Sep 15 at 11.25 a.m. with an ETA at Margera as of Sep 19.

Four Maldivians are stranded at Elevsis aboard the “Al Dhoha 1” cargo ship, which is used by Greece’s Naftotrade Shipping to transport cement to Libya. They not received any money after the company paid the salary in December 2010. Of the ten Maldivians six returned to the Maldives, four waited on the company’s request to wait for a month. The ship has been stranded due to the political unrest in Libya. Naftotrade Shipping’s Maldivian agent did not comment.
