Two injured in collision
The cargo vessel "Heng Star" was in collision with the "Sindo Express" on Dec 23, 2015, at 8.30 p.m. off in the Singapore Strait. The ferry was en route from Singapore to Sekupang. The collision happened due to mistake of the duty officers and violation of ColReg. The ferry suffered dents and scratches, the "Heng Star" remained almost undamaged. There were 74 passengers on board the ferry who all were evacuated and transported to the mainland. Two of the passengers were slightly injured, but released after medical examination. The local authorities started an investigation into the accident. The ferry remained anchored in the Singapore Strait until further repairs and survey. The "Heng Star" was inspected and allowed to resume the voyage.
