Medevac in Souda
The Central Port Authority of Chania was informed in the afternoon of Oct 2, 2022, by the maritime agent of the 'Silver Spirit' that a 79-year-old passenger of the ship, which had sailed from the port of Souda, needed immediate hospital treatment. The ship returned to the port of Souda and disembarked the patient, who was picked up by an ambulance and transported to a private clinic for medical treatment. The cruise ship continued its route, bound for the port of Nafplio.
Passengers disembarked at Darwin
On March 18 the 'Sliver Spirit' was allowed to berth at the Iron Ore Wharf in Darwin. The passengers disembarked and were required to undergo self-quarantine of four days.
Cruise ship denied entry in Thilawa
Myanmar stopped the 'Silver Spirit' from docking on March 4, 2020, for fears passengers could be carrying the coronavirus. The ship had docked at Phuket and was scheduled to stop at Thilawa, outside Myanmar's commercial capital of Yangon. The port authorities were informed that the entry of the ship should not be allowed. The vessel has more than 400 passengers on board. It berthed in Penang instead.
