Perpetrator fell from anchor chain at Batangas
While the 'Silver Millie' was dropping anchor at the Alpha anchorage, Batangas, on Nov 9, 2019, at 1 a.m., the duty anchor officer noticed a perpetrator climbing up the anchor chain and trying to gain access to the vessel through the hawse pipe. He shook the anchor chain, causing the perpetrator to fall into the water, who then escaped. A Philippine Coast Guard team boarded the vessel and conducted an initial investigation. The Coast Guard advised the Master to enhance security measures to avoid the recurrence of a similar incident.
