Medevac off Bermuda
The "Sigma Triumph" was diverted to Bermuda so an ill crew member could be taken to hospital. The crew member has been suffering from abdominal pain since Feb 29, 2016. The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre was contacted at about 8 p.m. in the evening of Mar 3 by the Meyer Shipping Agency to report that the vessel was inbound to Bermuda. The tanker, originally about 175 miles southwest of the island, arrived off the East End on Mar 4 at 9.30 a.m. and the pilot boat "St David" collected the crew member. The "Sigma Triumph", which was travelling from Algeria to the US Gulf, has been in contact with medical staff on shore and no improvement in the patient’s condition has been reported despite the administration of medicines available on board.
