NYK takes delivery of new coal carrier
On January 15, a new coal carrier, Shin Sekiyo, was delivered at Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (Saikai city, Nagasaki prefecture). A delivery and naming ceremony was held at the shipyard on the same day. Compared to the standard 70,000-ton Panamax bulk carrier, Shin Sekiyo has a wider beam and a shallower draft, improving transportation efficiency to ports having a limited water depth.
