Emergency services medevaced a seriously ill crew member from the 'Shetland' in the North Sea off Eemshaven on Nov 28, 2025. The KNRM Eemshaven was alerted on the morning, and the lifeboat 'Jan en Titia Visser' was deployed along with the 'CoastGuard 08' and an SAR helicopter from the Dutch Coast Guard, which had to proceed from Zeeland because it was operating elsewhere from Den Helder. The cement carrier proceeded from its anchorage to rendezvours with the lifeboat. Two KNRM crew members climbed aboard via the pilot ladder to assess the patient's condition. An SAR nurse was dropped off on the deck from the helicopter. In consultation with the Coastguard, it was decided to transport the patient to the hospital by helicopter. The nurse and the KNRM crew members prepared the patient for transport and then he was hoisted into the helicopter, After the evacuation and once the crew was safely back on board the 'Jan en Titia Visser', the lifeboat set course back towards Eemshaven, The 'Shetland' moored in Eemshaven.
