Tanker transited Strait of Hormuz in dark mode
The 'Shenlong', carrying one million barrels of Saudi crude oil, sailed through the Strait of Hormuz with its AIS turned off in recent days, as one of the first big tankers to leave the Persian Gulf since traffic through the chokepoint all but halted.Ā TheĀ tanker, which is operated by Greeceās Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd., had loaded crude oil from the Ras Tanura port on March 1, 2026, before departing on March 3. It switched off its AIS in the Persian Gulf on March 4, 2026, while sailing toward Hormuz and began signaling again near Indiaās coastline on the morning of March 8 near the Strait of Hormuz. The tanker, which is owned by Shenlong Shipping Ltd. and managed by Dynacom Tanker Management Ltd., arrived in Mumbai on March 11, carrying 135,335 metric tonnes of crude.
