Ship with Russian goods banned from Spain
The 'Azov Concord' was banned from entering Spanish waters and itsport of destination, Cartagena by the Spanish authorities because it had sailed from Yeisk with allegedly goods of Russian origin, in accordance with sanctions imposed on Russian ships and ships with Russian cargoes, after Russia invaded the Ukraine. The vessel anchored off Pozzallo on Nov 25, 2022. The port of destination is still Cartagena, with the ETA delayed to Dec 1.
First foreign ship left Mariupol
The "Azov Concord" has left the port of Mariupol as first foreign ship, headed for the city of Novorossiysk without any cargo on board. The ship, which was previously damaged by the Ukrainian military after the Russian invasion, has been repaired and was staffed with a new crew. The ship had arrived in Mariupol on Feb 21. Its automatic identification system was turned off on June 9 and reappeared just north of the Kerch Strait on June 24, the day before its arrival at Novorossiysk. It sailed again on June 26 and was headed to Zonguldak. Five other foreign-flagged vessels were still blocked at Mariupol, the 'Blue Star 1' (IMO: 9375159), 'Azburg' (IMO: 9102899), 'Lady Augusta' (IMO: 9163568), 'Tzarevna' (IMO: 9145231) and 'Smart'.
Cargo ships got entangled
In the Kerch Strait, the "Lady Maria" suffered damaged to its propeller after getting caught in the anchor chain of the "Azov Concord" near anchorage 471, during maneuvering to change the anchorage on Nov 30, 2018, at 12:27 a.m. The starboard side anchor chain got hooked with a propeller of the "Azov Concord". The "Lady Maria" sustained damages to its propeller. She arrived in Mariupol on Dec 7.
