Iran refused permission to leave Strait of Hormuz
Iran has turned back the 'Selen', as it was trying to leave the Strait of Hormuz as it demonstrated new administrative controls over the waterway. The ship was bound for Karachi when it was refused permission to exit the Middle East Gulf. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy stopped the ship as it lacked permission to pass through the waterway. It has been stationary off Bandar Abbas, after having left Jebel Ali on Feb 20, 2026, in pos. 6° 30' N 055° 43' E.
