30 migrants rescued off Cartagena
On Aug 17, 2023, the 'Seher S', en route from Alexandria to Newport, UK, notified Salvamento Marítimo of a precarious boat 59 nautical miles southeast of Cartagena. The CCS Cartagena mobilized the SAR boat 'Salvamar Draco', which rescued 15 castaways. Subsequently, a Frontex plane located another boat 46 miles away, from which the 'Salvamar Draco' rescued 15 more men. All 30 migrants were transferred to Cartagena.
