Cable layer in collision with barge
The 'Segero' was in collision with the Indonesian barge 'PCF 2402'loaded with 4.053 tons of granite from Pangke Village, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands, destined for Singapire. She was being towed by the tug 'Indah Laut 2201' (IMO: 8690863), Northeast of Karimun island in position 01 05 300 N 103 34 550 E in the Singapore Strait on Jan 14, 2021, around 3.30 a.m. LT. The bow penetrated the hull of the barge, which was heavily damaged, about three meters deep. The 'Segero', which was en route from Flushing to Okpo, was also damaged in the accident. She had got the signal from the tug to pass behind it when approaching from the left. She dropped anchor in pos. 01° 4.00' N 103° 29.31' E. There were poor weather conditions in the area.
