The wreck removal of the “Sea Worker” off Nymindegab is in full swing with only few wreckage still protruding above the surface of the water but a lot remaining beneath. The work is being done by the Durch company DISA. By April 19, 2017, the British tugs "Whalsa Lass“ (IMO-No.: 9633812), and "Voe Earl“ (IMO-No.: 9639983) as well as the barge "ASV Pioneer“ (MMSI-No.: 563017250) were working on site. Sea Worker loss may cost DONG hundredds of millions Crowns

Feb 01, 2017 09:03

The loss of the "Sea Worker" may be costing DONG hundreds of millions Danish crowns. The energy company failed to agree with the insurance company over who should bear the cost, not only to replace the lost platform, but also the expected high costs of removing the wreck off Bjerregaard. The amount is so large that DONG has chosen to include a note about risk in the prospectus the company drew up in the summer 2016. It is expected that the wreck will be removed over the year.
