Container ship broke lose in Lisbon
On Feb 8, 2026, the 'Seattle C', which had arrived in Lisbon on Feb 8, 2026, broke lose from its moorings at the container terminal amid storm gusts and drifted away from its berth. The ship anchored in pos. 38° 41' N 009° 11' W at the outer approaches to Lisbon. No major damage nor injuries were reported. Also the 'Liverpool Express' (IMO: 9232565), which was moored behind the 'Seattle C', broke a headline. The vessel subsequently also anchored near the 'Seattle C', which left the port again on Feb 14 and headed to Algeciras, where it arrived on Feb 16. Video: https://x.com/i/status/2022589096577614317
