Ayazbey

The 'Yyaz Bey' ran aground on Oct 25, 2021 at 3 p.m., off Mürefte port in the Şarköy district of Tekirdağ. On Oct 26, a boat tried to refloat the tug, but when it capsized in harsh seas, two crew members fell into the sea. Coast Guard teams from Şarköy Tekirdağ and Çanakkale were sent to the scene within a short time. The lifeless body of the 46-year-old Metin Altun was recovered and delivered to the medical teams at Mürefte Port, while the search efforts by the Coast Guard teams, helicopters, drones and divers were continued to find the other man, the 23-year-old Muaz Bellikli. On Oct 26, the lifeless body of Muaz Bellikli was also found between the rocks 200 meters from the place where the incident occurred. The body was taken to the morgue of Şarköy State Hospital by the medical teams waiting on the shore.
