The 'Seapower II' was detained in Guangzhou, after its arrival from Jeddah, following a Port State Control on April 18, 2026. The inspectors found 14 deficiencies, three of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. The inspection was conducted under the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The detention indicated serious non-compliance with international maritime safety or environmental standards. The vessel remained detained until the identified deficiencies were rectified and approved by the authorities. The ship left the port again on April 21, next headed to Kavkaz with an ETA as of May 20.
