Detention on Pengerang Anchorage

The 'Ghetty Bottiglieri' was detained in the waters of Tanjung Penawar in Kota Tinggi on April 3, 2021. The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency detained the vessel for illegally anchoring in Malaysian waters. The master and the chief officer were taken to the Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zoning Office for further investigation. As of April 5 the ship remained moored on Pengerang Anchorage in pos. 01° 20.38' N 104° 18.25' E.

First European ship berths at Pars port

TEHRAN, Apr. 13 (MNA) – The first European ship for carrying petrochemical products moored at Pars Petrochemical Port in Assalouyeh on Tuesday. Following the arrival in Kharg Terminal of oil tankers leased by Total of France, Lukoil of Russia and France’s Cepsa, the first European oil company tied up at Assalouyeh’s Pars Petrochemical Port on Tuesday to load Iranian petrochemical products. Accordingly, the vessel, which belongs to an Italian firm, has moored at Pars Petrochemical Port at Pars Special Economic-Energy Zone in Assalouyeh and loaded the liquid chemical products produced at Assalouyeh’s petrochemical complexes. The arrived of the Italian ship marks the first docking of a European ship at Pars terminal while more vessels of other European companies are expected to enter the Iran’s largest petrochemical port. Pars Petrochemical port with 15 berths and draught of 15 meters can accommodate ships of capacity 80,000 tons deadweight that especially carry gas and petrochemical products. Fuel spill on Parana River following collision

On Dec 13, 2014, at 5.40 p.m. the "Octbreeze Island" was in collision with the tanker "Ghetty Bottiglieri" at km 285 on the Paraná River off San Pedro. The "Octbreeze Island" suffered a breach of 5-6 meters length in the port side. The hull was torn open in the fuel tanks area, causing some fuel leakage. Both vessels were anchored near the collision site, the bulk carrier developed a starboard list. 400 meters oil booms were laid out by the taksed company Cintra . The tugs "Cazador" and "Corsario" attended. The bow of the "Ghetty Bottiglieri" was shattered. The Coast Guard regulated ship navigation following the incident, which left a large oil slick which was partially contained about 500 meters downstream of the collision site. The "Octbreeze Island" was sailing down the river, en route to Nueva Palmira. The "Ghetty Bottiglieri" was proceeding up the river to San Lorenzo, Santa Fe. At the time of the accident a storm was raging in the area.
