Schillig floating again

The "Schillig", which had grounded in the Strait of Dardanelles due to a rudder failure, was refloated on Nov 8 and dropped anchor off Erenkoy. A previous salvage attempt carried out by the tug "Kurtarma 4" had failed. Ship still stuck

The "Schillig" ran aground enroute from Connstanta, where she had sailed in the morning of Nov 4, to Casablanca while passing the Dardanelles during the north-south course transit on the wrong side of the fairway on Nov 6, 2015, at 1:31 a.m. in the Nara region at the rocky tip of Kepez Dalyan. The tug "Kurtarma 4" and the lifeboat "Kıyı Emniyeti 9" were dispatched to the site. The ship was actually still being stuck with no rescue forces on site. Some more trouble to report Friday, Oct. 6, 2015 in Turkish waters with the Gibraltar-flagged cargo ship MV Schillig running aground while transiting the Dardanelles strait. Turkey’s General Directorate of Coastal Safety says that the 2,415 gross ton dry cargo ship ran aground on Friday at approximately 01:31 while heading south through the strait.
