Fire on trawler in Sunnhordland
On Nov 23, 2018, at 12.15 p.m. fire broke out aboard the "Birkeland" which was docked at the Fitjar Mekaniske in Fitja, Sunnhordaland. The starting point for the fire was the freezer room. The fire brigade was alerted and could contain and extinguish it within 15 minutes with their smoke divers so that damage remained limited. The police launched an investigation, and the Labor Inspectorate was routinely informed.
