The "Zeebony" was detained on Jan 28, 2026, in Constanta, Romania with 28 deficiencies, ten of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Certificate & Doc - Security awareness training /designated sceurity duties training Missing 2) Certificate & Doc - Certificate for rating for watchkeeping Missing 3) Certificate & Doc - Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance Invalid 4) Fire safety - Fire pump and its pipes Not as required 5) Structural conditions - Decks - Corrosion Damaged 6) Structural conditions - Bulkheads - Cracking Broken 7) Labour conditions - Access /structural features (ship) Damaged 8)) Emergency system - Fire drills Lack of training 9) Water/Weathertight - Bulwarks and freeing ports Cracked 10) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again only on April 1 and left the port on April 5, enroute to Istanbul, where it arrived on April 10. https://www.facebook.com/share/1FMFw1zX8Z/
Technical failure in Istanbul Strait
The 'Zeebony', while en route from Constanta to Hereke, suffered a technical failure after entering the Istanbul Strait on Feb 9, 2020, at 11 a.m. The loaden ship dropped anchor at Büyükdere where repairs were being carried out by the crew.
Damages during discharge operations
The "Zeebony" suffered structural damages to the main deck handrails and hatch coamings during discharge operation at Gebze on Dec 29, 2018. Stevedores confirmed tht repairs of damages would be made prior to departure. It finally arrived at Constantza on Jan 22, 2019.
