Crane burst into flames while unloading coal
A ship-to-shore crane burst into flames while being used to unload a cargo of coal at the Port of Itaqui in São Luís in Maranhão from the "Nord Trust". The dockworker who was operating the crane to lift the coal needed to be rescued by colleagues but escaped unscathed. The blaze was brought under control using tugboats. Maranhao Port Authority (EMPA) has begun investigating what caused the fire. The "Nord Trust" which had docked on Sep 20, 2016, left the port again on Sep 26.
