Investigation into move of ship during dive operation

Apr 21, 2015 11:11

An investigation was launched after the "Bibby Sapphire" moved from its position during a dive operation on Apr 8, 2015. The "Bibby Sapphire" was out on dive operations when crew members noticed the vessel had begun to deviate from its set point. Two divers were deployed on the diving operation at the time, on the morning of Apr 8. The dive supervisor was immediately advised and two divers who were deployed at the time returned to the dive bell. The bell was recovered safely back to the vessel and subsea operations were curtailed. A full investigation in conjunction with the authorities and the manufacturers of the vessel systems was initiated. The “Bibby Sapphire" has subsequently been certified as fully functional and returned to service on Apr 11.
