Grounding off Bahia Blanca
On March 5, 2020, the 'San Matias I' ran aground in the approach of Bahia Blanca at 3 a.m. Three tugs were called to assist, and the tanker was refloated on March 6 at 1.40 a.m. The tanker was heading for Monobuoy No.1 at Puerto Rosales at the time of the grounding. It was moored on the Bahia Blanca anchorage in pos. 38° 58.48' S 061° 57.02' W near the grounding site. The patrol boat 'GC-130 Pendo' (MMSI: 701548000) was alongside. The ship was loaded with 65.000 tons of crude oil.
