Tanker hard aground in Singapore Strait
The "Spottail" ran aground on Nov 2, 2016, around midnight in the Singapore Strait east of Pulau Takong Besar in position 01 07N 103 43E, shortly after leaving Singapore. The loaded vessel was bound for Galle. The grounding occurred because tanker didn’t change course and headed straight towards shallow waters. The vessel was refloated on Nov 8 and moored at Nipa Transit Anchorage.
