Freighter crew rescued three castaways
On Sep 23, 2021, the crew of the 'Wilson Hobro' was requested to deviate from its voyage from Motril to Fécamp and attend an SAR operation outside Motril. Three people were observed in the water as their vessel was sinking. The crew launched a rescue boat and took on board the castaways. The 'Wilson Hobro' arrived in Fécamp on Sep 24 at 2 p.m.
Collision off Rouen
On July 11, 2018, at 1.20 a.m. the 'Wilson Hobro' was in collision with the French 15,95-m-fishing vessel 'L'Amarante - CN.922409', 48,85 gt, off Le Havre. The cargo ship was enroute from Rouen, where it had sailed on July 10 at 9 p.m., to Kolding with a crew of eight on board. The accident happened near the channel of Le Havre, 2,7 nautical miles off the Semaphore de la Hève in the waiting area of Rouen. The 'L'Amarante' was able to continue on its way to Honfleur after the lookout at Le Havre informed the CROSS Jobourg of the collision and had investigated the fishing vessel "Amaranth" continues to Honfleur. On its way it was regularly monitored by the CROSS Jobourg until the arrival in port at 4 a.m. The fishing vessel had suffered damage to the wheelhouse. The 'Wilson Hobro' also continued the voyage with an ETA as of July 14, 10 a.m.
Disabled cargo ship towed to Brest
Coming from Aviles, where she had sailed on Sep 1, 2017, at 8.30 p.m., the "Hanseatic Trader" encountered engine problems in the Gulf of Cascogne. She was taken in tow by the tug "En Avant 9" and pulled to the port of Brest. She was docked at the local CIB Shipyard on Sep 5 at 6.30 p.m. The vessel left the port of Brest again on Sep 10 at 8 a.m. and headed to Aarhus, ETA Sep 14.
