Breached ship berthed in Santos
On June 24 at 2 p.m. the 'Cap San Antonio' was permitted to leave the anchorage of Santos. It berthed at warehouse 35 on the right bank of the BTP Container Terminal in the port for inspection and repairs of the damages at port side.
Container ship breached in allision
On June 20, 2021, around 2 p.m. the 'Cap San Antonia' allided with the pier of the passenger terminal of the ferry between Santos and Guarujá in São Paulo. The accident occurred exited the fairway after leaving the port of Santos enroute to Paranaguá amidst strong winds. The ship' hull was breached at port side above the waterline, and a ballast water tank was torn open and spilt its contents. After the accident the ship moored on Santos Anchorage in pos. 24° 4.87' N 046° 19.74' W where where the classification company can issue a report, to assess whether the ship is able to continue the voyage. It remained stationary as of June 21. Also the structure of the mooring pier was destroyed. The Port Authority and the Navy started investigating the accident. There were no casualties and environmental pollution.
