Samnoy

On the evening of Feb 9, 2025, the 'Samnøy', one of the ferries that operates the connection between Halhjem and Sandvikvåg ran aground on its way to the ferry pier at Halhjem. The ferry had 53 passengers on board, none of whom was injured, nor was there a damage to the vehicles on deck. However, the ferry suffered damage, but made it to the dock under its own power. It is now out of service for a few weeks and will have to be docked for repairs. As of March 11, the ship was stationary at the berth in Halgjemssjøen.

The 'Samnøy' suffered technical trouble and was sidelined in Hjalhem for repairs. Thus the service on the E39 connection Sandvikvåg-Halhjem had to be suspended on Feb 4, 2020. The departures from Halhjem at 05.40 a.m., 7.20 a.m., 09.00 a.m. and 10.40 a.m. and from Sandvikvåg at 6.30 a.m., 8.10 a.m., 09.50 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. were cancelled by operator Torghatten Nord. There was no estimation when the technical problems would be solved, depending on components that must be sent for repairs. A spare vessel was to be inserted as a replacement soon.

The "Samnøy" suffered a technical problem on June 14, 2019, at 8.30 a.m. and had to be withdrawn by the operator Torghatten Nord from the Sandvikvåg-Halhjem route. The departures from Halhjem at 11.50 a.m. and Sandvikvåg at 12.40 p.m. were canceled as well as the departures at 1.30 p.m. from Halhjem and at 2.20 p.m. from Sandvikvåg. The ferry berthed in Halhjem for troubleshooting.
