Grounding in Suez Canal
The "Signal Cheetah" suffered a rudder failure, while transiting the Suez Canal at km mark 101 with a southbound convoy, and ran onto with the eastern bank and damaging its hull on Oct 26, 2018, around 1 p.m. The vessel had a double hull, and hence was able to resume its transit. It was scheduled to exit the canal at about 5.30 p.m. with the assistance of two tugs. It moored on the Suez South Anchorage in pos. 29° 42.16' N 032° 35.26' E. The tanker was en route from Constanta to Singapore.
