The "Cape Vanguard" dragged its anchor on Mar 2, 2011, in the Plumper Sound near Saturna Island in a fierce storm with southerly winds of 70 to 100 km/h, with peak gusts from 100 to 140 km/h. The ship had been waiting to load coal at Roberts Bank. Its engine was fired up and the vessel repositioned to avoid going aground after it was drifting rather close, broadside to the shore, having moved 300 metres out of position.
