Fire in Karlskrona
On May 30, 2021, at 2 p.m. a fire broke out in the cargo hold of the 'Salar', which had berthed at a recycling facility at the Bruun's Quay in Landskrona on May 28. 12 units from five fire stations were initially on site to fight the fire which was an extensive operation. The fire in the scrap cargo had to be extinguished with water cannons. The scrap had to be unloaded to put the fire out. People nearby were urged to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation due to strong smoke development. It took the fire fighters 12 hours to extinguish the fire.
