Crew member killed in accident
A crew member of the 'NCL Svelgen' has been killed in an accident in the port in Orkanger, close to Trondheim, on July 20, 2020. A doctor was quickly on the scene, but the man's life could not be saved. The Norwegian authorities were investigating the cause of the accident. Their technicians were working on site, and the police Trøndelag was in the process of obtaining statements from witnesses. It was not clear whether the crew member - who was in his late 20s - got caught between two containers of if he was hit by a container. The vessel had arrived on July 19 and left Orkanger on July 21 at 3.50 p.m.
