Saga-Fram

The "Saga Fram" suffered problems with its anchor off Uusikaarlepyy. The ship was destined for the port Pietarsaari to unload cellulose from China but could not enter port on Nov 29, 2013, because of a storm. When the anchor was to be lifted again, it remained stuck in the ground, and finally the anchor winch also broke so the anchor chain could not be recovered. The damage could be fixed over the weekend by a technician which had been flown in by the Norwegian shipping company, but the anchor still remained at the bottom, and the ship could enter the harbor in Pietarsaari only on Dec 2 at 6 p.m. when the weather calmed down and the anchor chain had been winched out.
