On March 29, 2025, at around 5 p.m. the crew of the 'Warber', en route from Rouen to Södertalje, remarked a sailing boat drifting upside down about 250 meters from the Laboe Naval Memorial on the Kiel Fjord, but was unable to assist due to its own draft. The 45-year-old skipper from Kiel was unable to right his dinghy under his own power and was already suffering from hypothermia.
