The 'Magnate' with 19 crew members on board arrived at Chennai on Feb 18, 2020, coming from Shanghai, loaed with a cargo of steel. The ship was berthed, and boarded by medics, alerted understood, in advance, on presence of two sick crew members with virus-like symptoms of fever and flu. Both were isolated and checked and tested for coronavirus. The rest of the crew has been isolated in the superstructure. The ship was barred off, so that no docker or other port personnel could approach the ship. It remained to be decided yet, whether to offload the ship or send it back to China with all cargo remaining on board. Meanwhile the samples tested coronavirus negative, and the cargo probably will be offloaded.
