ATLANTIC WAVE 1 8230912
In Ilyichevsk port, Ukraine, Black sea, in shiprepair yard area at around 1200 LT May 23 2011 sank floating dock PD-154 with a docked vessel inside, tanker Volgoneft-263. Tanker has on board 8 mt of fuel and 1.2 mt of lubricants, there is already some spill, salvage and cleaning operation already under way, sank dock is boomed. Crew of the m/t Volgoneft-263 informed floating dock personnel at around 0200 LT May 23 2011, that dock got a bow trim. At around 0400 vessel went off blocks, at around 1200 dock with vessel sank, EPIRB issued distress signal after going underwater. Tanker sank because of cut in a hull in 142 frame area, required for repairs. See pic at Maritime bulletin www.odin.tc
