PUTERI ZAMRUD 9030838
The "Puteri Zamrud" on Jan 23, 2011, encountered engine trouble off-Palawan after being battered by rough seas. It had a crew of 33 and sailing Philippine waters at approximately 25 nautical miles off Isabel Pt., Palawan en-route to Tokyo from Bintulu, Malaysia. The Coast Guard Palawan sent the "Edsa Dos (SARV 002)" from Puerto Princesa to render assistance to the vessel. The Coast Guard Action Center also coordinated the availability of tugs to render towing assistance if necessary. Supply Oilfield Services (SOS) Inc. reported to have dispatched the "Pacific Ariki" on January 23, 2011 at 9:30 p.m. to render assistance.
