Punta-Medanos

After the death of Amelia Torres, a third deck officer recently graduated from the Nautical School who was making her first voyage aboard the "Punte Medanos", investigators did not rule out a homicide. The "Punta Medanos" had sailed on Jan 7 from the port of La Plata to Comodoro Rivadavia. At the height of Villa Gesell Torres was found dead in her cabin. By radio the captain immediately notified the Prefectura and was ordered to enter the local port, where he corpse was removed from the ship and handed over to the Federal Justice of Dolores, which investigates the cause.

Amelia Torres, a young deck officer, was found dead in the cabin of the "unta Médanos" which was sailing off Villa Gesell. The federal court of Dolores launched an investigation for the death of the woman after the ship entered the port of Mar del Plata on Jan 7, 2017. The tanker was to remain in port until the justice has determined the course of the investigation.
