Two injured in fire aboard longliner
Two fishermen were affected by the inhalation of the smoke that arose insidethe 'Txopituna' which was anchored in the Manta bay and had suffered a fire on Nov 30, 2021, at around noon in the Manta port. It took a little more than one hour to control the fire. The injured were transferred to hospital, while fire fighters continued with putting out the fire. The fire brigade worked jointly with personnel from the Manta Port Terminal and the Ministry of Health. The Manta Port Authority launched an investigation. The vessel was towed to the international pier number 1, berth 4, for the subsequent inspections.
