Six Turkish sailors kidnapped from the "Puli" off the coast of Nigeria have been released unhurt. Pirates attacked the tanke on Apr 11 while it was sailing through the Niger Delta en route from Port Gentil in Gabon to the Abidjan, and seized the sailors, including the captain. The abducted men were in good health. There was no word whether ransom has been paid before the sailors were released.

Pirates attacked the "Puli" early in the morning of Apr 11, 2016, off Port Harcourt, and hijacked a part of the crew . All six Turkish crew members, including the captain of the vessel, the chief officer and the chief engineer, were abducted by the attackers. The vessel had left Abijan on Apr 8. The pirates fled with the hostages. The ship carrying chemicals was believed to be travelling from Gabon to Ivory Coast. The pirates attacked the ship late at night as it was sailing close to the oil-rich Niger Delta. The navy was going to board the vessel to speak to other crew members. The remaining crew was in good health.
