Crew of new Greenland supply ship corona infected
A recently decommissioned crew from the 'Tukuma Arctica' has been tested positive for corona virus. The ship was berthed in Aalborg and therefore did not carry viruses to Greenland. The infected crew worked aboard the newly built container ship which has been at the quay in the Greenland port of Aalborg, since it arrived from the Lonxue Shipyard on March 3, 2020. Royal Arctic Line stated that the crew's journey has been mapped and all necessary precautions have been implemented. The Royal Arctic Line collaborated with the National Medical Board and the health authorities in Denmark on how the situation should be handled. All necessary measures will be taken for the security of the crew and of supply to Greenland. In addition to the crew, a large number of local craftsmen were on board the ship while it was in Aalborg. So far, it has been planned that the 2,150 TEU container ship, the largest and newest in the Royal Arctic Line's fleet, will depart for Nuuk with a premium call on April 17.
