Engine damage in Skopelos

The Port Authority of Skopelos was informed in the morning hours of Sep 16, 2022, by the Master of the 'Proteus' that during the engine checks before sailing, a mechanical failure occurred ahead of serving the route from the port of Glossa Skopelos to the ports of Skiathos – Mantoudi – Agnonta – Alonissos – Agnota – Mantoudi – Skiathos – Glossa with 96 passengers on board. The Port Authority of Skiathos banned the ship from sailing until the damage was repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness was presented. The passengers and vehicles bound for Skiathos - Mantoudi were forwarded to their destination by care of the company.

The Port Authority of Skopelos was informed in the morning of Aug 31, 2022, by the Master of the 'Proteus' of a mechanical failure during the starting process of the port side main engine before departing from the port of Skopelos on the scheduled route to Skiathos – Mantoudi – Agnonta – Alonissos – Agnota – Mantoudi – Glossa – Skiathos – Volos with 177 passengers on board. The Port Authority banned the ship from sailing until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness from the monitoring classification society, The passengers and vehicles bound for Skiathos and Mantoudi were to be forwarded to the destination with the care of the ship owning company.

Crew member injured in work accident

The Port Authority of Volos was informed in the morning of Jan 31, 2022, by the master of the 'Proteus' about the injury of a 33-year-old crew member when the ship entered the port. During the disembarkation of the vehicles and while performing works for securing the inner door in the car deck, he hit his head at a parked vehicle, resulting in a fracture of the lower jaw. The man was transported by private means to the General Hospital of Volos for further medical examinations. A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Central Port Authority of Volos.
