Grounding off Montevideo
The "Glad Mark" ran aground off Montevideo in the mouth of the Rio de La Plata at river km 188 on Sep 4, 2018. The grounding was caused by a failure of ship’s main engine. The ship was enroute from Baltimore to Ingeniero Buitrango at the time of the accident. On Sep 5 it remained stuck in pos. 35° 10.15' S 056° 31.28' W with the patrol boat "Bahia Blanca" nearby. The bulkcarrier was able to refloat with own means and moored on La Plata Anchorage in pos. 34° 43.54' S 057° 50.15' W on Sep 6.
