Lighter sank with cargo of Propel Grace
The Bangladeshi lighter vessel 'Tamim', loaded with 1,600 tons of wheat, sank on May 18, 2022, in the estuary of Meghna in Lakshmipur after an hitting underwater obstruction. The ship rested on the bottom of sea canal with superstructure remaining above the water. All 12 crew were rescued. The ship had offloaded a cargo of wheat from the 'Propel Grace', which was moored at Chittagong Anchorage since May 4. It was destined to the Nabil Auto Flour Mill in Narayanganj.
