Container ship saved crew of grounded cargo vessel
On July 5, 2018, around 11 a.m. the "Trường Hải Star 3' saved the crew of nine of the Vietnamese flagged cargo m/v "An Phú 868", 2041 gt (IMO-No.: 9373060), which had run aground enroute from An Giang to Hải Phòng at 10 a.m. The crew abandoned ship into a life raft about 10 miles off the port of La Gi. Also the "Haian Bell" had diverted to the grounding. The castaways were taken to the port of Hu Lai. By July 10 the 10,5 tons bunker fuel of the casualty could be drained. The ship of the Hong Ha Bay Shipping Co., Ltd. in Thai Thinh broke in two and flooded.
