Bulkcarrier hard aground
The 'Edelweiss' ran aground in The Southern Makassar Strait, Java Sea, north of Masalima island in the evening of Dec 23, 2019, while en route from Taboneo, Kalimantan, to South Korea with a cargo of coal. As of Jan 18 the ship was still aground and salvage works under way by a contracted salvage company in pos. 4 48 1S , 117 2 29 E with the tug 'Nakula' in close proximity.
