Pont-Aven

Following dry-docking in Gdansk, the 'Pont Aven' will not return to service as planned on March 27, 2020, until at least 9 April 2020. She was scheduled to serve the following destinations: Portsmouth-Santander-Plymouth-Roscoff-Cork. All passengers with existing reservations will be offered a full refund.

Two medevacs were carried out from the "Pont Aven" crossing from Santander to Plymouth in the afternoon of Sep 26. A 36 year old British passenger has been airlifted by 1 p.m. by helicopter and transferred to a hospital in Brest for medical treatment. Passengers were kept updated via tannoy announcements. At 5 p.m. a second person was airlifted to hospital. A 78-year-old passenger has been evacuated for medical reasons. The helicopter took him to Derriford Hospital. The 'Pont-Aven' resumed its journey towards Plymouth with an ETA as of 6:30 p.m., 1 hour 20 minutes late. A 26-year-old man from Ireland died on July 2 aboard the "Pont-Aven" during a crossing between Cork and Roscoff between 8 and 9 p.m. of a cardiac arrest. The young man had embarked at 4 p.m. in Cork. The ship's nurse, in conjunction with the Toulouse-based Maritime Medical Consultation Center, failed to resuscitate him. The condition of the young man, disabled and a priori under respiratory assistance, was not considered incompatible with a trans-Channel crossing.
