Bulk carrier refloated
The 'Sanko Fortune' could be refloated with tug assistance on the Paraná river and was anchored for an inspection on Feb 3 at 05.40 a.m. The vessel then continued its voyage and was estimated to reach Punta Del Este on Feb 5.
Grounding on Paraná
The 'Sanko Fortuna', being loaded with 47,000 tons of maize, ran aground near Puerto San Martin on the Paraná river in pos. 32° 39.78' N 060° 43.36' W in the morning of Feb 2, 2021. The ship got stuck shortly after completing the loading operations t the cargo terminal while proceeding downstream towards Bahia Blanca for a top off. The tug 'Coopor Estibador I' (IMO: 9769362) was called from Rosario and was alongside the vessel on Feb 3. Passing ship traffic was not affected.
